Root Beer Barbecue Sauce

Actually, the recipe is for Root Beer Pulled Pork with Root Beer Barbecue Sauce and is from Imperial Sugar.  I never make the pork, though, only the sauce. My son says this barbecue sauce “tastes like Christmas” but really, I think he’s exaggerating.  It’s very good though if you use a good micro-brewed root beer, and fresh garlic. I make a three-fold batch which uses two 12-ounce bottles of root beer.  Oh, and unsulphured molasses.  Blackstrap is good for many things, but it brings a bitterness that doesn’t fit with the profile of the rest of the sauce.
